Good External Hard drives?!

Hello, i have a new Netbook (Samsung NC10) 160Gb HDD

I'm looking around for a external hard drive now which i could use with it to store movies,music and all sorts.

Any of you guys know of any? im abit worried about these external ones because i hear the can sometimes break and then all your data is lost.

Any infomation would be great.

Im looking for one over 300Gb Really, no more than £150, Small and portable and fast would be great, as i travel a lot
