Good External Radiator Solution?

Hi there,

I am quite new here but figured I may find some really good advice.

I work in CGI Animation and VFX and generally use pre built workstations rather than custom rigs for various reasons. One of the big draw backs to this is cooling and case 'real estate'.

I currently have a Dell Precision T7910 with a Xeon E5-2699 v3 CPU and a Dell 'sealed' watercooling heatsink / fan thingy. It works quite well but runs on the hot side (60degC to 75degC) when rendering for long periods.

There isnt much scope to add additional cooling inside the case as its so compact in there so I was wondering if there are any really good external water cooling solutions I could think about going for? I have seen a few where the pipes exit the case via a PCI blanking plate and connect to a big radiator tower. I dont however know anything about them.

What could I do to look at bringing temps down a touch during heavy workload periods? If anything.

Thanks in advance.

Ben

I know its reasonable, but I'd like to explore solutions as I will be adding another CPU in a few months time and know that is going to have a negative effect of temps.

I rely on my workstations to be stable under pressure and touch wood so far its been fine, but If I can guarantee lower temps by investing in something I would be happy to investigate.

I have just stumbled across Koolance cooling systems. Do these perform well?

Thanks

Is there an 120mm fan on the rear of the case?

I've used this before:

It mounts to a 120mm fan mount on the rear of the case. It's pretty solid too, can handle a heavy rad and a bit of force with ease.

You can stick a huge Rad on it and mount it on the rear of your case. I had a pretty sweet setup on a case where I couldn't fit any rads easily.

I've had it dismounted for a while as I have a TJ07 case and a pretty sweet WC setup but might give it a go again as I still have the case I tried it with, which actually had the external WC tube holes pre-drilled into it.

It can be fed via tubes through the PCI bracket however you may be limited by the size of tube you can use
