Good game recording program??

In the past I've use that video program bundled with ATI drivers to reduce the file from Fraps. Forget the name of it, now it's an optional install though.

Audio: AAC, 48Khz, 128 bitrate
Video: 1280x720, 30fps, h264, target bitrate(Mbps) 3, max bitrate (Mbps) 6, 2 pass VBR

Those are the settings I use for youtube in Premiere. It's resulting in half the filesize of the default settings with no noticible quality drop that I can see so I'm pretty happy with it.

Recorded at 1680x1050 with FRAPS at 30fps so the ratio has changed slightly to get rid of the black bars at each side. Edited in Vegas 11, rendered following this guys settings:

Original file size for that clip was 1.98Gb, the rendered WMV is 51.7MB.

After recording some game footage with whatever program, fraps, after burner etc...

Can you change/vary the playback speed of the video, but play it smoothly, not juddery. I want to record some game footage and have some 'slow motion' bits in it.

I've used Viruadub and managed to get the size from 4Gb to 900mb which is great still AVI. is h264 best?. and is it best converted to wmv(smaller size?

thanks again.

This is the one I converted down to 900mb and uploaded today:

any chance of getting this to about 200mb-500mb that is still good quality?

cheers guys
