I have the Roccat Kave and it is way to heavy for me. Makes my neck ache.

There is always an on going argument on "Is 5.1 better than a decent set of regular headphones?"

I'm open to suggestions and pretty much anything. No budget as of yet.
Suggest away at either surround sound or normal headphones.

Think most people using stereo headsets/headphones use their soundcards control panal options.

Xfi I think its CMSS-3D not sure about Asus cards mate.

EDIT:

I didn't read the question properly.

CMSS 3D is decent, directional sounds still sound pretty good even in my old headset (Icemat Siberia)

I have a pair of Corsair HS1's .... the comfort of them is awesome - you don't even know you're wearing them after a short amount of time so defo worth considering imo (or the HS1A).

Im on the brink of buying the Roccat Kave my self. (tuesday) Either that or the HD555. HOw heavy are they? they must be pretty bad to make your neck ach?? Apart from that Whats the bass/sound like?

P.s the creative Fatal1tys are good... for low headphones..but for me they did give me headachs and jaw achs after about an hour. The amount of times i had stop swap back to my old cheap £15 microsoft headphones when on Vent. -_- The bass on them was pretty good though but they arnt amazing.

Gonna pimp em again - absolutely love my Sennheiser PC163D for gaming, great sound quality, very light and comfortable and crystal clear mic.

lmao well im sat here with season 3 of 24 on my head (which weighs 450grams) at the mo its ok..gunna see how long i can stand it :P

Very good card. I don't have much experience with sound cards neither am I much of a sound god but it was very easy to setup.

The GUI is very easy to use. Setting up 7.1/5.1 is very easy, along with a lot of different features which are easily accessible by just going on to that section on the GUI.

I cannot comment much on the sound as I have said I am not much of a sound man but it has made my kaves sound a lot better and it has completely stopped it buzzing when it is turned up very loud as when I was using my realtek onboard my Kave would buzz if it was too loud.
With the fact you can mess with all the different channels (left, right, center, sub, etc) Means you can tweak it to how you want it.
