So here's my spec I'm getting today:

Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
TeamGroup Vulcan RED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD316G2133HC11ADC01)
Asus MAXIMUS VI FORMULA, Intel Z87

All will be watercooled, is there any good basic setup guides for a decent overclock? I'm currently on a i7 950 @4.2Ghz, so am familiar with some things, but not others :)

Thanks!

An Easy 4.4/4.5/4.6GHz Template:
Here are the settings I used; you can use them as a template for your settings:
Profile #1 Basic Profile:
CPU VRIN Override LLC: Set to Extreme (this is to make sure VIN doesn’t droop)
CPU VRIN Override Voltage: 1.7-2.0v (reduce if temperatures too high is causing instability, increase if temperatures are fine and you are unstable)
VCore: 1.24-1.34v
Ring Voltage: 1.15 or 1.2v
CPU Multiplier: 44x-46x
BCLK: Auto
Turbo: Auto
C1E, C3, C6/C7, and EIST: All Disabled (There is a table in Step #1 which describes the behavior or different power saving features and what to enable/disable to get the behavior you want.)

Profile #2(trade VIN for vRing):
CPU VRIN Override LLC: Set to Extreme (this is to make sure VIN doesn’t droop)
CPU VRIN Override Voltage: 1.7-1.8v
VCore: 1.25-1.32v
Ring Voltage: 1.2-1.26v
CPU Multiplier: 44x-45x
BCLK: Auto
Turbo: Auto
C1E, C3, C6/C7, and EIST: All Disabled (There is a table in Step #1 which describes the behavior or different power saving features and what to enable/disable to get the behavior you want.)

For giga boards.

Worked for me but remember your temps will go high if you use the higher end of the volts.

Also what is your cooling? Please do not OC with the stock cooler at all. Leave it and look for a cooler first or you will throttle and/or burn something.

I will not take responsibility :P

Im moving it all into a Carbide 540, watercooled CPU/GPU/Mobo so plenty of cooling (360+240) rad with Gentle Typhoons controlled by my Aquaero 5 XT :)

That board will overclock to 4.4ghz with a few clicks then you can tweak as needed. Mine is currently at 4.4ghz at 1.25v

I used the cpu step up and made a note of the voltages that it ran at.

However it is a haswell and it depends on if you drop on a chip that likes to be oc or not.

Ok cheers, seems straight forward enough!

Can't wait to build it, mostly new stuff, but building into a new case is always fun.

Thanks Make! Good stuff. Looks like I've got a lot of reading to do. The last time I did any overclocking was on the Nehalem platform.

All installed,

Just a quick basic picture, not overclocked or anything yet, but I have very very nice temps :D

Very nice Addicted, though for dual channel you need to have your ram in slots 2 and 4 for dual channel mode. Id also suggest either resizing your image or placing it in spoiler tags to comply with forum pic size rules.:)

Hmm, I read the red slots are for the dual channel? Not gonna lie it was just a quick install to get running, I'll get changing it all when I get the new cables, and then overclock it :)

Presume 2 + 4 are the black ones?

From a quick read of the manual, it seems that the way you have the ram should be ok, though iirc i have mine in 2 + 4, and cpu-z shows it working fine in dual channel. Hard to see in the pics i have of the rig as my cooler covers the ram slots.

Btw, how are you finding the board so far? Tbh im a bit overwhelmed by the amount of settings.

Bank balance says no, could maybe afford one of the ocuk fathom kits for the cpu only. Ideally id like to change case too. Corsair 540 or mod a loan li A70F full tower i have.

I think the Red ones would be more optimal due to being closer to the CPU, whether or not that makes any difference I have NO idea.

Ordered some more Bitfenix cables and Lighting, full pics tomorrow :).
