Just did an upgrade on my pc and as allways i back everything up and reformated my hard drive. Only problem is ive spent 2 days downloading all my games from steam/ea downloader/D2D and im still not done. Would there be any problems with getting a 2nd hard drive (Not SSD, theres NOWAY there would be enough room. Ive owned two and sold both.biggest waste of money) and using it to install only my games onto?

At the moment i have a 500GB hard drive for back up, a 1TB hard drive for O/s,music, programs, games etc.

I like to have all my games installed and ready to play incase i think "OOOO i fancy a bit of GTA4 today" that way i dont have to wait 4 hours for it to download. The games nearly come to 30-40% of the 1TB hard drive.

QUESTION:
Only thing im slightly worried about is having a hard drive full of games. Would it slow the HD down at all?

Also would steam still work okay after i reinstall the OS?

Any other problems you think i may come up agaisnt? thanks for the advice :)

When you download a steam game back it up- its an option in steam and means you dont have to download again.

Doing this you can uninstall and reinstall in minutes- and i currently use an 80gb intel ssd for a potentially 200gb steam folder
