Good indie games / unusual gems on steam?

I litterally could not stop playing these for weeks! their both fairly large games too so take a good while to complete :)

It's worth having a look for the steam indie deals when they come around. They're generally 5 games for a tenner or so.

Generally, you get a a game or two that averagely meh, two that are pretty good, and one that completely surprises you and you fall in love with. :p Generally you're getting at least 3 good games for the price of 2.
 
I really should complete Shadowgrounds... i played it for a while and just never carried on. Was an enjoyable game.
 
Are there any decent 2D shooters in the Indie section?

I bought Braid and Super Laser Racer so far both of which are good fun.

Darwinia was quite good, if not a little clunky!
