Can anyone recommend me a nice looking light weight laptop (not the Vostro :p).
It will be used for general internet usage but would like it to be a bit future proof.
I don't want anything above a 15.4" screen, and would definately like it to be as light as possible, and yes I know it sounds stupid but looks are quite essential (afterall isn't it fair to ask for something you will be looking at for hours at a time to look decent? :D)

Budget around £600, could go higher if the laptop is good enough (maybe upto £700).

What would you be using this laptop for? Any brand preferences?

Just general internet use and maybe the odd game (not essential though as I have the desktop for that). Other than that maybe watching the odd film and listening to music.
Been looking at the Vaio's but obviously they are pretty costly so as long as it looks nice, weighs as little as possible and gets the job done i'll be happy.

I've been looking at laptops and found these that might interest you :)

I would say Macbook too, if you're not wedded to Wintel in anyway.

Stylish, slick and something a little different.

The macbook was an alternative I was looking into although I imagine it would create a lot of hassle with my ipod which then wont be able to use both the laptop and desktop.

But I didn't think an iPod could work on Windows and the Mac OSX?
I always assumed it had to be formated to one particular OS?

Definately gone to the top of the list at the moment, would ideally like at least a 13" screen though.
Thanks a lot for that suggestion, will look into that one a lot more. Do you have one by the way? opinions?

EDIT - What are the chances of getting a laptop with a HDMI port for that sort of price range?

You say you want as light as possible and no bigger than 15.4", then you say that you need a bigger screen? Both don't go together unfortunatley.

Probably nill, I haven't seen any laptops with hdmi. You can just buy a dvi-hdmi adaptor though.
