Good low system requirement games

KOTOR is great acually. played until the water planet i think but then starte playing some other games and uninstalled it due to only having a miniscule 30GB of hardrive space. dunno how i survive TBH...

diablo 2
baldurs gate 1 & 2
icewind dale 1 & 2

diablo 2 is a brilliant game but i found it got... quite boring after getting to the desert part. hacking and slashing is great fun but gets a bir repetetative. (IMO :))

Baldurs gate such a great game! loved it to bits! only played the 2nd but what a great story. loved it. might play the first one at some point.

never played the Icewind Dales games. am i right in thinking thay are similar to Baldurs Gate?

Homeworld 2 is worth a shot, so is the original Homeworld. Pretty decent games, and HW2 has a big mod community behind, allowing you to try out Star Wars / Star Trek / BSG mods for it, see if that's your fancy.

Second HW2, the graphics are very good, you'd never think it's as old as it is, i had a few games of it last year, round the time i bought Mass Effect and it looked good

Not sure how well it will run though, as i recall a good 3 ghz P4 + Radeon9800 was needed to have it looking nice, and you dont really get the same epic feel if it's not smooth and run on higher settings

HW1 is ok, but HW catacylsm was better as was HW2, the first game was a great new concept, but it took the two sequals to actually translate that into allround polished games

The civ games are always good, and don't forget the very underated Alpha Centari (civ on another planet), even better if you can bag the Alien X fire expansion

i dont understand it. i can play company of heroes on lowest graphics and complete it and everything and it runs just fine. but when i tried playing Morrowind i just cant on lowest res and settings. dunno what is going on...

LOL at Lemmings :p

The draw distance is usually the killer in morrowind as it forces the engine to load more CPU players into the world, making the system grind to a halt unless its a decent spec lol. Also disable pixel shaders in it to get it to run smoothly on an old system as the pixel shaded water is completely unoptimised and makes it run like turd. Turd the draw distance and AI distance down as far as possible and it should be alright.

Really good game if you spend an hour or two doing the main quest to get into it abit. You'll probably have to resort to looking on the internet to get help with some parts of it as theres items you need which are literally in the middle of no where :D

completed homeworld 2 :p brilliant game. it even runs on full graphics on my laptop. ill have a search for it in the attic and try some of the mods out.

cant be bothered with command and conquers. never really like them.

might try tomb raider. i quite liked angel of darkness.

and i have tried setting everything to lowest on morrowind yet it still runs like crap :( ill try some other time though because i might have missed something.

never played the Icewind Dales games. am i right in thinking thay are similar to Baldurs Gate?

yep :) they are not quite as good as far as story goes as you create the whole party and the personality of the characters was one of the things i loved about baldurs gate

gameplay is almost identical tho :p

Oh I'd say have a playthrough of UT1 and 2 if you have the time. Really good single player experiences and the first one is absolutely massive lol. (like so long you might get your pension by the last level). I really enjoyed UT2's single player as well, although not as long the story line was pretty good and the graphics aren't at all bad.

I Love Heretic, HeXen, HeXen II, Heretic II. This beautiful games, and required low system =)

I use to enjoy hexen on the playstation but for the life of me can't get into it on the PC lol. Got them from steam ages ago for pennies as well. The version on the playstation was probably the hardest game I've ever played
