Hello.

Im looking for a good mic for less than £30 for my live stream. I would get a blue yeti as I know they are good but im not a big time streamer and can't really justify £100 + on a mic

I will buy second hand if need be.

Fire away

Thanks :)

For around that price point have a look at the Samson Go-mic, I have one and find the quality good. Take a look at various reviews of it,

I'll be honest with you, there's nothing worse than a bad microphone on a live stream, I'd even say it's more important than higher quality visuals.

I'd get something to tie you over like what Tachyon said, but ultimately save up for something higher like a Yeti.

Also make sure you've got some form of pop filter, a wooly sock over the mic will do in a pinch.

For an all in one package they're great value.

But you'll never, ever get a headset anywhere close to the quality you can for a freestanding mic with proper drivers.

Would a £50 gaming headset be ok do you think?

Something like a turtle beach headset? My x11's have died :( Never had chance to use them for live streaming.

£100 seems a little to much for the yeti.

I bought the Samson go mic and the blue snowball, quality was nearly identical in my environment so sent the snowball back.

Might go for the samson then. Im often on skype via the ipad and didn't really want my conversation coming up in my stream if theres know one in the stream anyway. Is it easy to mute the samson? Button on the device?

You could I guess get something from sennheiser, avoid steelseries like the plague their microphones are absolute ****e.

Again it's a case of, if you can wait and save, get something cheap to tie you over.

No mute on the Samson. Quality is very good. got it clipped on my keyboard and zero complaints on comms.

Can just pop the cable out to mute it i guess.
