Good mmorpg?

I used to play City of Heroes, that's a great game and still going (fairly) strong :) Play the US servers though for a bigger population :)

Played that, i loved Atlas City, but the instances started to be the same layout and i got bored.

it takes a Tonne of crap because these so called AAA mmo's are mainly just carbon copies of WoW mostly, hardly any developing studio is taking any risks. I've found of recent years the indie MMO companies offer the best experience and try new things.
etc..

I don't get your point

Wouldn't touch Global Agenda if someone paid me, boycott!

This is what he means - if you load up any new mainstream mmo, you're guaranteed to get the following :

Quest givers with exclamation marks above their heads
A carefully plotted path to follow from area to area, leading you by the nose as you level
A class / level based system with three specialisation paths you can take for each class
A drip feed of gear fed to you to keep you interested. Colour coding will be white, green, blue, purple in all likelihood.
A title / achievement system, that's designed to make you do repetitive stuff on a constant basis.

And so on. You know exactly what to expect from the moment the character creation screen pops up.

The likes of global agenda mightn't be perfect, but at least they're breaking the god awful mold WoW has imposed on the mmo industry.

Been trying to get into Mortal online recently
really refreshing for an Mmo

http://www.mortalonline.com/age_verification?destination=node/92

the new star wars is looking interesting not a big fan of the films but im looking at game play.. not due till 2011 mind !

im allso awaiting Blade & Soul looks amazing game play and gfx wise allthough i will tred caution with another Ncsoft title allso due 2011 !

How's that?

You don't need to do Quests to level up
It's FPS based
It's not based on the gear you've gained, it's based on skill more.
Their is hardly any grind because past level 30 it's just armour dyes.

lots more, expect to see a lot more FPS based MMO's though, Darkfall seem to have set the standard as well as Global Agenda.

Quite enjoying Fallen Earth atm, might buy it. And i hate games with elfs, gnomes and al that crap, runscape was ok for a while but im too old for it now and i only like playing as a human.
