Good none PVP games

PVP seems to be at the core of gaming these days, I seem to be in the minority in having no interest in it.

Are there any good games out with single player career type game play to them? I have a few of the usual suspects but looking for stuff that might have gone under my radar. Not really a fan of shooters, I find them a bit tedious and samey after about 15 minutes.

Witcher 3 - best game ever created? ;)

why not give a genre(s) you like?

do you want story/action/ or do you want something easy to pick up and waste time on?

time waste Euro Truck Sim!

I'm not sure, my taste is a bit random.

Witcher 3 has never appealed, isn't in all goblins and dragons and stuff? Not into anything Harry Potter/Lord of the rings style.

Have enjoyed Fallout series, although I have 4 and haven't played it much. Have enjoyed GTA5, still have 4 untouched, should probably install that.

Tried Doom and was bored within about 10 minutes, too old for stuff like that these days I think, I have in the past lost hours/days of my life on tower defense style games.

I want to give gaming another good go before I throw the towel in.

I can't stand Lord of the Rings style, dragon slaying games either, however Witcher 3 stands in a league of it's own, regardless of its theme. I never imagined I'd like it, but it now stands as one of the best games I've ever played. And, I still hate Lord of the Rings.

I dislike pvp too so know what you mean.

Cities:skylines is a nice time waster, can be played without full attention and has a real sense of career progression to it.

American/euro truck simulator

Farming simulator 17

Planet coaster

Fishing Planet

7 days to die - can be played solo and build your own base to survive zombie attacks. Oddly relaxing lol.

All of these have a sense of progression to it and can really feel like your building something.

Banished, can be modded too.
Guild Wars. Great story (I got hooked on Guild Wars story/PvE & I normally only PvP), insane amount of skills (spells) customisation in your builds with hundreds to swap & choose from.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
Portal 1 & 2 (two has co-op & story, funny stuff).
Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Q-Beh-1: The Atlas Cube. A 3D jumping platform puzzler type game, check youtube. Relaxing & fun.
Terraria (you'll lose your life to this once get into it).

+1 for Factorio

7 Days to Die has good progressive base building and defense mechanics. If you can get into it, it becomes addictive. New big content update just dropped too.

Others, I guess things like RimWorld and Civilization V maybe. Xcom2 perhaps. + FM2017 if you have any football interest.

What's genres of games do you like?

if you like to play online without PvP then I'll say Ark Survival Evolved is worth a look and play on PvE servers, the game is coming out early access next month too

A few options that spring to mind:
- Assetto if you want to drive
- City Skylines if you want to build
- Elite Dangerous, then play it in either solo mode if you don't want to see another player, or join mobius if you want coop
- DCS if you want to flight sim. Whilst it's a military flight sim, you can happily fly all you like in self built missions to practice your flight skills
- As already mentioned, Portal, 1&2, which are simply brilliant and now dirt cheap
- Fallout 3 (both), also now cheap

You should look at some of the RTS games too.

Starcraft 2 has a massive PVP scene but the single player campaign is very very good too and there's been a couple of expansions to extend the story line. Maybe take a look at Grey Goo too.

Bastion
Torchlight II
Life Is Strange
Aragami
FTL: Faster Than Light
Anno series
Transistor
Hyper Light Drifter
The Swapper
Telltale Series

There's loads of survival type of games out at the moment. Depends if you want to class them as shooters or not though as you'd need to fight to survive.

This is a good list.
