Good on Bioware and SWTOR

Some people simply don't like having alts. I for one hate it. I always have 1 main on any game I play and that is it.

8 characters, 4 on each side rolling all 4 professions.

I've only got my 4 characters on the Republic side to Coruscant recently, Sith side characters are still at Level 1.

Why would you want 8x 50's that's just boring. So you do the same content on all different alt's bar the class quests? No thanks.

I like the way people think the people who hit 50 in a week or so rushed the content. It's just so easy to level, yeah i played a lot but that is due to having no work at the moment and in other games i wouldn't have even of touched the surface in that time.

I would have stayed if being at 50 wasn't so boring, the hardmodes are easy, roll your face and come out with epics thats even if the bosses don't bug and actually give you loot. Then there was 8 man raids giving loot lower par than hard modes (what the hell) then Nightmare bugged majorly and 16man more lovely buggyness.

I'd say more people left because the game didn't feel like it was retail but more like a beta product. I've not been in a game that is as much as a bugfest as this, it really is bad the amount they let slip into retail.

They're not the same classes though, each class is significantly different than the other, which makes playing them different so i don't really care about doing the same non-story quests again.

In WOW and other games i had more than one 50/60/70/80/85 (whatever max level was) but that was because i enjoyed the game. I had a few alts on this but after hitting 50 and finding out how boring end game was i just couldn't push myself to level them as it would be a never ending cycle.

In the end the game to me could have been so much better at 50, but i think they spent to much time making sure the voice acting was in game than actually getting the part right at end game which would have kept subs.

I love the game, but i question the game engine, performance is not what is should be and unless they fix it in 59 days when my timecard runs out,im not sure if i will re-sub,ive already cancelled my CC sub info.

I hope optimized drivers will improve the performance when released soon. (Nvdia new drivers next week apparently)

I want the game to succeed i really do, but i fear BW have there work cut out,my opinion anyway :).

Fair enough, but you have to admit - even with twice as much content you would be done by now.

4 times the content & you will be done next week, I'm sure you could agree that no games company on earth could create enough content to satisfy a power-leveler (without simply repeating things to add more content, or artificially slowing it (Asian MMO's with 40 million experience per level).

Saying you don't like alts is just that - you are saying "I don't want to do 50% of the content of this game" - I want more content.

It's fair to say the game is lacking in end game content (compared to games that have been out for 7 years) - but it's not reasonable to say this game lacks content, as it has plenty (just you don't want to do it).

TBH I think this is great and so far I am really enjoying the content. I am a casual player and dont have hours and hours of time to put into the game and I am currently at Level 28.

In time I think that this game will be great people just need to be patient really.

Nope not at all, there needs to actually be a process to hold you back. I think Rift had it down to the T as it took months of farming Hard Modes before you could even consider going to the big raids. You can do the lower end ones in a few bits of Hard Mode and crafted gear and pretty much rick roll it.

It would have also helped if the content currently out wasn't so bugged.

Right theres fast leveling and there is power leveling, what i and other did was just level fast due to the amount of time we played. It's a different ball game with power leveling, it's to go as fast as you can in as little amount of time as possible.

Now content blocks simply won't effect them, they are the small minority that wanted everything done ASAP now you will never please them.

To be honest, that's my biggest gripe - the terrible engine & a few of the very poorly thought out decisions (Ilum being one).

They should add a hard-mode for every single flashpoint & a nightmare mode for all of them in the game.

I'd like they to add a 4man heroic planet, a hard-mode flashpoint level planet (with quests, chains & various things to do - with dailys n stuff) - will be an interesting thing I think.

I haven't followed this but from what I've seen in the first few posts the problem is a lack of content?
It sounds like star trek online :P All mmos suffer from this, even wow did. But because it didn't have any real competition and there was an addictive element (Raids) it broke through that barrier pretty quickly. Are there no hard raids to do?

To be honest, I don't like the idea of farming hard modes for months.

The last thing I want to do is repeat the same instance 5000 times to earn enough tokens to move onto the next instance I can do a further 5000 times.

I agree they need to add more content, but that will take time.

Ideally, to progress to raids you would have to do every single hardmode flashpoint (at least once) - perhaps make it so you need to do some kind of requirment like warhammer had (unlocking the tiers) - if they added lots of flashpoinst this would be a good system.

But simply doing the same thing again & again (daily heroic farming) is not a great idea - even worse if they make it so you have to do it 100's of times.

There are a number of flashpoints.

Black Talon
Esseles.
Hammer Station
Athis
Mandalorian Raiders
Cadimidu
Boarding Party.
The Foudry
Calicoid War Game
Directive 7
The Battle For Ium
The False Emporer.
+ about two others I cant remember the name & a new one added in the last patch.

And two raids

We have 3 PVP wargames with another one due in the next patch.

The content is much better than most games at launch.

Yeah i can understand what your saying, it's a pain but there needs to be something to stop you doing content to fast especially if it's as easy it currently is.

Everything currently is just to easy, if it offered any sort of challenge it would be fine. I had a guild mate of mine in 3 bits hard mode and a few crafted epics go into a pug Raid and face roll all the bosses. There is no enjoyment in that at all.

I played a game for 3 years with one content release which was a dungeon that was crap, I played the game because it was good and there was lots to do in it... Items were hard to get which meant grind ***.

Yeah I couldn't stand daily farming, sure it isn't a requirement but it didn't mean it wasn't neccesary. I also disliked the casual raids from wow. Clearing a raid no longer meant anything, people had an alt of every class decked out in the best gear.

If there are that many flashpoints/raids then what are people complaining about? Are they too easy?

Im going to start a 'Shame on you Bioware and SWTOR' thread if we're going to start filling up the forums with fan nonsense. Although that being said there isnt much love in this thread, it sounds more like a defence by a couple of people.

Luckily for the forums I dont want to bring down the ire of TC on my head, but yeah unnecessary thread and should be merged with the 'proper'.
