Good PC Games

What good PC games are out now. I will be getting a C2D 1.6ghz, 1gb ram and i have a 6600 AGP 256mb graphics card. (will be upgrading). What good games out now are there or coming out in the next month or so? I need some: FPS (i have CSS), two player+ games, racing games and so.

BF2, BF2142 , STALKER, Oblivion, Prey, FEAR.

Loads!
Nearly all games would play on your system at the moment, but as soon as things like Crysis comes out your stuffed

lol, just say it how it is

F.E.A.R is a must if you haven't already played it / completed it. SWAT4 is fun, especially co-op mode. Very atmospheric if you play it with the right people... :rolleyes:

I bought F.E.A.R, Prey, Far Cry and Stalker. I found Far Cry and Prey seem to work much better on Vista than the other two, F.E.A.R. is actually unplayable for me, i managed to find a fix for Stalker but i didn't find it too enjoyable (think it's due to it having an RPG aspect to it). I'd recommend Far Cry and Prey, even though Far Cry is getting old now, it's got great graphics, i know some people think it's a bit linear however.

Its still the same as every FPS, move to an area, kill the bad guys, move to another area, kill the bad guys. Farcry is prettier than some, and you get to fly hangliders and drive vehicles (which is ok as long as you havent got a dual core CPU so that if you crash your vehicle disappears and crashes the game.)

Occasionally some FPS with have a slight puzzle element but its still the same.

i have farcry to only started playing it a few months back not very far into it but i started getting artifacts so i returned my gfx card to overclockers been over 2 and a half weeks now and i still havent got it back

im using this 7100gs which wont even riun it propperly so looks as if ill have to wait untill me 7900gs is returned.

FEAR is a terribly dull and overrated game. I finished it but only because I thought that each new level might get interesting. Why they didn't.

Condemned
Need For Speed Most Wanted

He makes a point though. The reason why Counterstrike is still popular since 1999, for instance, is thanks to the unpredictability element online.

Games like FEAR, Far Cry, and so on are great games - until you decide you want to play some more and you realise the single player route will be the exact same and the multiplayer route is lacklustre.

All it takes is a simple (can't stress that enough, CS is so dead simple its unbelievable), addictive multiplayer mode and THEN you got a kickass game.

That being said, it isn't all grim. Give one of the Hitman series a try, now thats a slightly different experience

When did i say that i didnt like FPS? Seriously, some of you really need to read a full thread before posting.

Someone else posted FEAR was boring because all you do is move and shoot, i just asked how that varied from other FPS? At no point did i say i was bored of them!

Other FPS feel like there is a point to them. Deus Ex is move and shoot but I was thoroughly enjoying every second of it
