As in the title, any recommendations for a home cinema projector within the above price range?

1080p image mote important than 3D etc and low noise (where possible) are primary desires.

Thanks.

Pretty much anything by Optoma will be good and BenQ have a few offerings around that price which people are generally positive about.

I bought a s/h optoma HD131XE not long ago for £200 and it's great. Got a blackout blind from ikea for a screen and it works perfectly. Movie watching at home on a 92" screen is fantastic

Is it your first projector as your choice might be dependent on placement and size of screen you want. Will a light fitting be in the line of sight if you want to ceiling mount?. Are you susceptible to the rainbow effect of dlp projectors?

Hi guys, thanks for the advice and suggestions.

I went with a BenQ W1080+ST ........ got a demo of a 1070 to see if I was susceptible to the rainbow effect and had no issues.

The 1070 had clear issues with motion, especially judder in panning scenes but the 1080+ reviewed well with no such issues.

Very happy so far.

There was something wrong there. I have a 1070 and never had any problems like that.

Certainly coukd have been an issue that was not normal to the 1070, I had seen some mention of it in some reviews .. .. maybe it is down to personal sensitivities.
