Me and my mate are off on a lad’s weekend down to Liverpool at the end of the month and wouldn't mind some suggestions for places to check out. We are planning on doing the whole Beatles thing so The Cavern and Penny Lane. But apart from that we will be on a serious drinking mission so what are the places we must stop by for a pint?

Cheers :)

Some good clubs i've been to with my mate whos at uni there are Messhouse, medication and Mood.

I can't really remember any pubs other than i think its blue angel lol hope I didnt get that wrong and its actually some stripper joint.

Have fun

The Fly in the loaf is a really good pub as mentioned. If you like proper pubs also try Dr Duncans which is near Queens Square and also try the Philharmonic on hope street, which is just round the corner from the Fly in the Loaf. I'll also reccomend Jango's on Wood Street of an evening, they do a lovely white russian, although avoid the rest of Wood Street until you get to the FACT, as most of it is crap.

If you're doing the beatles thing then yeah, Matthew Street should do you, the cavern is actually an OK place especially if they have live music on.

Enjoy yourself.

I was going to say The Philharmonic is worth visiting just for a look round inside.

jacaranda is good , i like its dirt and smells.

heebie jeebies is a good student centred club with music from the 60's from jazz to pop. very good place.

Albertdock is ok for the start of the night, try the pump house.

Philharmonic is my regular , good ales , good crowd.

i even met an actor in there last week , Jonathan pryce.

Has to be the Crazy House....

Best club in Liverpool

This man speaks the truth, although it's the Krazyhouse! :p

Many good nights there, apparently I hugged a police officer when plastered, who luckily was very nice about it. He did me the honour of walking me to Burger King accross the road for some beer-soaking material too... much to the amusement of my friends :o

Thanks for all the suggestions folks!

We are more indie lads and will be looking for Beatles, Oasis, OCS type stuff, the mod scene is what we are looking for to be fair. And after a hard day of drinming we would probbaly hit some clubs. So keep the ideas flowing!

We are staying at the Radison so dunno where that is in relation to any of these suggestions?

It isn't far at all to be honest mate, the Raddison is in the business district, quiet of a weekend but it's a nice building. The city centre is quite compact so a 15-20 minute walk tops to most of the places people have mentioned above. If you're into the indie scene deffinately check out Jango's the Riff on Wood Street and Heebie Jeebies on Seel Street :)

If your an old man like me and like real ale then I know millions.

Ship and Mitre top end of Dale street. Thats the best pub in Liverpool, mix of all ages and beers.

If you like bars, CAVA which is a Tequila bar.

If you like the Beatles go where it all started, The Cavern on Matthew Street. You can miss it.

If you want to know more msg us here, i am out in the Pool all the time! ;-)
