Hey Guys,

Don't usually post in GD but I'm off to Edinburgh with the mrs in a couple of weeks and just wanted to know of any good restaurants in the area that may be worth a visit.

Thanks in advance.

oh ha ha ha.

:p

depends what you are after OP.

money no problem, try the witchery next to the castle.

i've not been for years though, so if its turned crap sorry not my fault.

:)

The Dome on George St was pretty good when I was there with my family. Very nice atmosphere and food was fantastic.

Another good place if you like Japanese is a sushi/teppanyaki restaurant near Edinburgh University called Koi

'chop chop' if your after a chinese - best chinease in scotland and very reasonable price we paid 38 and were stuff! this included a few bottles of beer and wine aswell!

It's not really a restaurant but Effie's Kebabs on Lothian Road do the best kebabs in Edinburgh :)

I know this doesn't help, sorry.

Lies! Everyone knows that Palmyra or Cappadocia are the best.

The witchery

Awesome restaurant. Expensive prices.

but worth every penny

If the prices at the Witchery make you blanche you could try "A room at the west end".
Silly name, but fantastic food.
Also theres a nice restaurant at the top of the museum which personally I found underwhelming and overly rich food wise but I'm told by everyone i know who has been there that I have no taste and its fantastic etc etc.
Cant go wrong with the good old Ghurka if you fancy somthing spicy :D Staff are brilliant there too
