Good story...

What do you guys think the best story is in a game?

Just curious as the last one I really enjoyed was Bioshock. Absolutely loved the execution of the ending.

One of the greatest stories ever told:D
one of very few games i've gone on to play through on a good number of occasions, back when it was released i was transfixed on the story, i just felt so engaged, the characters were so deep and there was true emotion there behind them, i mean come on dont tell me you didnt shed a tear for aerith:(:o.
on top of that it just had this epic feel to the game, i mean 3 discs, a whole world to explore, easily over 100hours worth of play there if you took your time.
at the time i had never experienced a game with so much depth, and out of the box there have been very few games since that have surpassed that experience for me.

i'm sure if i went back and played again it wouldnt be quite the same but i'll keep my rose tinted specs of for now if you dont mind.

VIII and X came very close

SWTOR (empire sorcerer - loved the whole rising to power thing and backstabbing everyone xD that and gettin laid by my space babes haha!),
MGS series,
Max Payne 1....great story and narration using the sketches/comic,



best ones of all are the ones we make up as we go along playing games in multiplayer xD e.g. buddy on a cap point on bf3 taking fire... do some crazy moves in a jet, parachute in, everything dies, we are victorious, give some speech about crushing capitalism/communism depending on which side we are on :p putting on funny accents and making it up as we go along xD and the random Bane quotes.... "Now's not the time aiming.... that comes later"...we were wetting ourselves... anytime anything happened we used the generic quote and replaced the word aiming with what ever haha!

also screaming derka derka when jihad jeeping and for mother russia!!! when doing something crazy as the russians... maybe not completely PC but oh well. it's not meant in any distaste :)
