Good story...

Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2, Breath of fire 3, Final fantasy 7 and 8, Max Payne 1, Mass Effect 2 and 3 (never tried the 1st), Record of Lodoss War, Fallout 3.

I know 3 of those are Dreamcast games and 3 of them I played on the psone but there isn't a huge amount of pc games so far with epic story that I've played.

Somebody hasn't played Metal Gear.

+1billion xD i know i said mgs1 but i love then all to bits!!!!! after completing mgs3 you unlock the cinematics in the theater viewer.... i sat and watched one course of the game with just the videos.... took like 9 hours xD it really is like you're watching a super bad ass film but also get to play a part and be a boss! ;)

A boss? Don't you mean a BIG boss? ;)

Nothing like being one of the les infant terriblés, shame that apparently is over.

For myself i'd say:

Assassins Creed 2
Metal Gear Solid 4
Bioshock
Final Fantasy VII

Do like some of the set pieces in the Uncharted series also!

Deus Ex
Thief 1-3
Max Payne
Alan Wake
Skyrim
Fallout series (although not really a fan)

Each one had a good game story. My favourite of course is Deus Ex, people who have seen me post about Deus Ex before will know this. :p

I've never played a game and gotten into the story. Not sure why.

I feel the same way. I can't relate the same way compared to say films.

In video games the narration often includes too many made up terms/numbers and obscure names. The Witcher 2 a case in point, whilst the story is good (once you've got it) I felt myself completely overwhelmed by all the different factions/characters.
