Good, SUBTLE case

thanks for all the advice guys, got my heart set on the corsair obsidian 700d (800d seems to be the same with the window and the hot swap, not fussed about hot swap and would prefer without a window.)

Looks very slick, seems quiet yet cool inside and some of the examples of cable management seem orgasmic (you know you work in IT too long when good cabling becomes a fetish =/)

700D isn't a good case for air cooling as far as I'm aware - it serves brilliantly as a water cooled case however - apparently the flow through the case isn't very high so it likens itself to an oven after a few hours of heavy usage...

Another vote for FD Define XL, or the R3 if you want something smaller. Dont got for the 700D if its only air cooled.

650D would get my vote. hard drive doc and usb3.0 front ports..

Fractal Design Define R3 would be another good option.

The 800D/700D are more suited to water cooling. The 650D is their little brother, more adapted to better airflow.

Yeah but i also need quite a large case, in an antec 900 atm and its just way too cramped. the 700D had plenty of space inside

Why not the 650D then? It is classed as a MIDI case but has heaps of room inside, more then the average quality case.

Yes, it is better for airflow then the 800D/700D.

Dimensions: 546mm (L) x 229mm (W) x 521mm (H)

seems like an okay size tbf, just can't get my head around how the airflow could be better in a tighter space, surely the layout of the fans etc is the same

800D/700D do not have front intake fans.

I see, i must admit the case looks identical but a bit smaller, but im really not a fan of the visible LED ridden fan at the front. but i think it will be this case for me

If you don't like the front LED, don't plug it in
