Good time to get a PS3?

I've managed to hold off ever considering a PS3, but I knew as soon as MGS4 hit the shelves I'd have to get one sooner or later. If it wasn't for this it would be for Heavy Rain whenever that comes out.

However prices don't seem to have changed much in ages, is there ever likely to be a price drop, or a new model anytime soon? I've seen the 80GB/DS3/MGS4 bundle for sale in the USA, anything like this coming to the UK? I'd prefer to get a model which plays PS2 games but is there ever a chance of BC coming back to PAL consoles?
 
I think people are expecting a price drop soon, or a SKU change at least.
TBH its a fools game, you'll always be waiting for the next change - it's a bit like waiting for the next PC CPU or Graphics Card :p
 
I too am waiting for a price drop or new SKU, but like you say, I could be waiting forever. Just would be nice if they announced a new 80 or 120GB model with BC. Theres nothing on the official forums either :(
 
when is E3? im guessing its best to wait for that, also dualshock controllers? when will they be included in the bundles?
 
I bought one the other day, although it doesn't match the games library of my 360 it's nice having games i couldn't play on the 360 and some i really didn't want on the 360. I am pretty pleased that i bought it now as i've waited for a while then finally decided to get one.
 
Is Heavy Rain actually coming out at some point then? I thought it was just a tech demo to show the awesome power of the PS3.
 
The PS3 is starting to sell out in a lot of places online, either there's a shortage or Sony are planning a new package (DS3?). Guess i'll wait a bit.
 
I reckon I'm going to buy a nice big TV, then perhaps around Christmas, get a PS3. Seems to be the best option for me. :P
