Yea i am a great fan of brick and motors and always prefer to buy my gear there if its juts a few quid more or maybe even just £100 more max for high valued stuff like L lenses and cameras.
But if i can save more then £200 on lenses or bodies, i tend to go to the cheapest place be it the rainforest or in HK.
I bought my 5d3 in HK and saved nearly a grand! redicolous price it was when it was released here!
Now its at an affordable price thats around just £200 more then the HK one and i would have snapped it up from here.
These Brick and Motors need to start charging there gear similar to online deals and also if they had proper demo room where you can test out studio stuff as well as the usual testing of cameras and lenses then we are on a winner.
i have been to the Park camera store a few times already and its good. i think they are building a little studio in the basement to test/demo stuff their.
They have a wide range of cameras ,lenses and accessories but not much on studio gear like softboxes etc etc.
This is where calumet beats these places hands down. There are two calumet stores in central London.
One tiny one where barely 5 people can fit inside(offers a load of studio gear and camera stuff for such a small place) and a huge one down euston(they practically have almost everything there
