got my phenom X2 555 today, it seems to be a pretty decent tri-core cputhe 4th core fails, which is a tad annoying, but still, so far i have a 3.8GHz tri-core phenom for under £70

It shouldn't be annoying as you got an extra core for free.
If you were that bothered about having a quad core then that's what you should have bought in the first place.
