Good USB Pen Drive

Would there be any point in getting an OCZ 16Gb USB pen drive? Want a nice big pen drive so I can take stuff home from Uni and vice-versa. Or am I better off buying a small portable HDD?

Looking for about 10Gb minimum. Just not sure whether paying more for a USB pen is worth it over a portable HDD.
