Good value NAS drives?

Please, do not think by value I mean cheap.

I am refering to relative performance and build quality per £ per gigabyte.

As in, I am not after WD Ultrastars BUT do not want a random Seagate plonked in there either.

They do not have to be "NAS" drives even.

I have been using Toshiba P300's in a 4 x 3TB config and have been solid and quiet and good temps and they are 7200RPM which is nice.

I am not sold that drives marketed as NAS drives are that great to be honest. Sometimes, a high quality "None NAS" drive can perform just as well, if not better. I know NAS drives should have better reliability/tolerances etc but it is not always the case.

Thanks.

@Gimpymoo there's a rather good deal on at a certain large online retailer for the WD my book duo 20TB.
You'll get 2 WD 10tb reds at just a shade over the price of a single 10tb disk.

I had one of these earlier in the year and no shucking or anything required to get at the drives

Thanks @Squid Vicious

I did think of getting a couple of drives and shucking them BUT, I need the redundancy and two drives is not enough for what I need.

I went with the Toshiba P300 in the end.

Had 4 running for nearly a year now and working without fail so got another 4 of them.
