Good Zoos

Just got back from marwell thought it was reasonable to be honest, probably seen enough animals to last at least 6 months.

Monkey World is probably the best I have attended, the place was suprisingly big, I rather like monkeys and when they where boring you should check out the ppl making faces at them.

Howletts or Port Lympne in Kent. Great for large primates.

Both very good for big cats and elephants too.

If you fancy a trip over the water I can recommend The Isle of Wight zoo, especially if you like Big Cats.

Took my girlfriend to Whipsnade Zoo on her birthday.

You can either walk around it or drive a car around the park stopping off at various points. There is also a Safari section where you can only take your car or otherwise use a steam train.

Lots of animals to see, wild ones roaming around and its high up in the hills so its pretty beautiful. We had a picnic one of the grassy areas on the hill by the penguin enclosure. She loved it.

Paignton Zoo in Devon

That ones not as good since they sold their land to Safeway.

It's not too bad, hasn't effected the size of the zoo much really just a bit of an eyesore.

I know the largest top three (in this order) were London, Bristol then Paignton so either of those I guess.

Paignton is cracking, only round the corner from out flat and we go every year at least once (out of season though so it's not as busy) :)

Cheers everyone, we've opted for London Zoo. Think it's going to be easiest for us to reach and being it's one of the biggest should mean it has enough to keep us busy plus the fact we can get the 2 for 1 offer (cheers DB_SamX) :)

I do really want to go to Chester zoo! Chester zoo! But it's a bit too far :(
