She was a 16½ years old Beagle/Labrador cross and we had to have her put to sleep this afternoon.
She had became very thin, was walking around as though she was in a daze and her eye sight had also deterioated to the point with which she was bumping into furniture with her head. She had other ailments too.
The vet had said her liver had likely packed in and in general, she had just become worn and tired with her body slowly switching itself off.
We adopted her from the local RSPCA Animal Shelter 3½ years ago, she was allready 13 years old when we adopted her.
She was originally with an old lady who could no longer look after her, she was placed in the Shelter where she was originally adopted by a couple who had a baby and said she had tried to "attack" the baby?
3½ years later, we have had 2 children and she has been the PERFECT family pet, even showing patience towards the little ones when lesser dogs may have lost their temper.
I have cried too much today and have a storming headache and feel sick.
To our best friend Honey, the family will miss you x
RIP Honey
