Goodbye to one of the best drives in Cheshire (A537 Cat & Fiddle)

I've been looking at all these roads that people say have specs and are comparable.

They just aren't. This isn't a straight, fast A-road we are talking about here, its a road that climbs the Pennines, twists, turns, is literally in the middle of nowhere, nothing for miles around on either side.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&s...7139,-2.017193&spn=0.050844,0.156898&t=h&z=13

It's also a road with a massive fatality rate, one of the few roads where excessive speed is a significant cause of accidents...

again its bikers with no will power to control themselves on the long straight roads.

They get temped to open the taps, before they know it they're doing 150mph and have no way of reacting or stopping in time if a car pulls out on them.

Its one of the bikers main roads into skegness, where they flock every weekend. The sea front is always full of them.

It attracts nutter bikers. What else do you expect? I doubt specs will stop them throwing themselves at the scenery.

I'll have to go for a run next week before it gets neutered. :-(

It isn't excessive speed though, its lack of talent, well for the car drivers it is.

Bikes are another story, and were it up to me I'd just ban super/sports bikes from that road. :p
