What is the best way to integrate GA into WP? I've set up a brand new site and trying to avoid unnecessary plugins but happy to install any plugins that are useful. I previously used Monster Insights but always reviewed the analytics in GA rather than in the plugin.

Thanks, Mark

"Site Kit" is fine for this besides manually inserting the code into a theme/child-theme/header etc.

Did you get Analytics added to your site?

Doing a quick Google, Monster Insights should be fine, you don't need to use their features, just add your GA tracking script and it'll send data to Analytics.

As On Holiday said, you can drop it into your header file. Just downloaded a local copy and found this:

Code:
wp-content/themes/your-theme-name/header.php
