Google: Bing Is Cheating, Copying Our Search Results

Normal people don't search, they "Google." They sure as hell don't "Bing" and I don't think they ever will, or even know what it is.

Bing's front page is too messy for me. Google may be scum, but they know how to design a front page for their search engine. :p

Bing's front page is brilliant, especially the background.

Also, using a brand name as a verb is so déclassé. Now if you don't mind, I was in the middle of hoovering.

I have always found Bing's results to show up everything but the address that I wanted.

Quite ironic as their advertising campaign said that they don't do this

i remember trying bing when it first launched, it looked nice but when i tried to search it just came back with server is overloaded messages happened each time i tried and put me off using it since. Might try use it at some point but google works fine for my needs :)

People need to remember that Google make money from their search engine - their results cannot be trusted 100%.
I've moved over to Bing - much prefer it.

Why on earth is the word 'cheating' in the thread title and mentioned repeatedly throughout the thread even though it's well-established none of this is illegal.

Is there some corporate search-engine ethics handbook I'm unaware of?

As Google made a play to destroy net neutrality not too long ago I think they can go **** themselves with a bat if they think there's sympathy out there for them on this.

I know what you mean. I hate those companies who provide a really good service and ... wait, what?

Of course! never said their services were bad, only said they are evil :p.

Poor Google [/sarcasm]

I moved to Bing after all of the data mining that goes on with Google - I don't seem to have any problems with it and if they're using data from Google / Yahoo / etc. then it can only make the service better and hopefully without all of the data mining that google users seem to get.
