Is currently (as of the last five minutes) my favourite thing! Had a class earlier and was shown a derivation out of book. I was just trying (and failing to reproduce it). Now i cannot be bothered to trek it to the library at this time of night so to google books! And there it is in all its glory, published in the 1970s but its there with what i saw earlier, awesome!!

It is very useful, until the part I'm reading refers to a result shown elsewhere in the book, which isn't part of the review. It always seems to be the pages I need that aren't shown! It's a pain, but obviously I understand, since they want people to buy the books.

so which books are actually scanned in? only ones that are old enough to have no IP/copyright or what ever it is.

As of 2006, Google has not revealed how many books they have already scanned. Google did say that it is scanning more than 3,000 books per day, a rate that translates into more than 1 million annually.

Some books only let you look at a certain number of pages, rather than specific pages, once you use your limit you're locked to those. Which is annoying...
