Google Check out ?

yeah, it's for each transaction. So it pays to make 4 orders instead of 1 consisting of 4 items, if you know what I mean.

I order two external HD's last week and placed them in two orders, got the money off for each.

 really, thats sweet, I'm guessing google are subsidising this then, must cost them a fortune surely for every puchase.

In the short term, but being a payment gateway makes a lot of money. Trade at a loss at first, become the best and then trade with phenomenal profit from then on. It's not like Google is hard-up for cash. :p

Just remember though that you'll have to pay separate delivery costs with each transaction instead of one single delivery option, so that will negate some of the saving.

Saying that though, I bought a new motherboard for £30 delivered through Google checkout last week........which was nice. :)

I've seen some online stores that use google checkout give you delivery for pence if your preperd to wait a week for it to arrive, I really like the whole idea, not just the £10 offer, it's just so simple, whack in your password at the checkout and your done,

I wonder if OcUK would ever consider having a Google checkout option ?, would increase sales surely, can't see it doing any harm.

Is there really any point though?

This £10 off offer is only till the end of May I believe?

Google Checkout is fine for small businesses, and small transactions like ebay, but with companies like OcUK I'm quite happy to just pay directly with my debit card.

It's designed for all sized businesses. One of OcUK's larger competitors use Google checkout.

Most companies don't process debit cards directly, they simply use a merchant account with a payment gateway. Like Streamline, worldpay, protx etc. Many do the work behind the scenes of major e-tailers, Google Checkout are the same. However, Google are pretty good at being simple, quick and effective, so they have every chance at dominating this market given time.

there are some massive companys using it online, bigger than OcUK, I can't name them though as they are competitors, and when you pay using google check you can uae any card you like with it, so if you want to link your debit card to it it's fine, it's no where near as complicated as paypal, you just feel in a form simular to a form you fill out for an online purchase and thats it, job done, no more filling out forms just fill in your password and thats it, it keeps a log of all your purchases as well which is quite handy.

I cant wait til it gets down here and stores start to sign up:D

If its down here already please tell me

Google=The best thing to happen to the internet

Google Checkout is excellent, its very easy to used and the £10 off each time is so cool. I recently used a large competitor to Ocuk to purchase a 4gb OCZ pen drive and a VGA lead which came to something like £33 inc super saver delivery, with Google Checkout i only paid £23.

Doubt id use the service if the £10 off wasn't available though.
