Google Check out ?

With a certain online retailer with the help of good pricing, free delivery and Google Checkout I've just bought a 30GB White iPod for my wife for her birthday for £142inc VAT & Delivery.
Now that is a bargain.

May as well use Google Checkout as much as you can while they are offering the £10 off.
I can't see it being there forever.

Be careful with this offer, people are being reprimanded…

“During a recent review, we noticed you've placed several orders using our
recent promotion. We do not allow buyers to split orders or unfairly take
advantage of the discount provided. For example, an order containing 2
items that total £80 should not be split into two orders of £40 in order
to receive additional discounts.
We review accounts regularly to ensure a safe purchasing environment for
our buyers and sellers. We hope you understand the reason for our
policies, and we trust that you'll make use of the rules and promotion
requirements outlined above. Keep in mind that continued use of this
promotion that does not comply with the previously mentioned guidelines
may result in order cancellation or account closure.”

This as many people have pointed out is in direct contrast to what they say in their terms and conditions so people are complaining. Google it seems are trying to cover their backs, they really didn’t think this one through. It should have been obvious that an offer like this will be used or ‘abused’ as they say. They cant say one thing one minute then just because they miscalculated take it back.

So be careful with your order frequency, offer ends 10th of June

I'm not sure if the £10 off everytime you use them is here to stay - if it's a feature they will always offer or not.
However if it is why doesn't it surprise me in the least that people will attempt to abuse it?
They offer a £10 off an order at £30 or higher which is a great little saving.
So of course people will attempt to split their orders into £30 chunks to try and save as much as possible.

I'm quite sure the Google T&C's do probably state that you shouldn't but when has that stopped people in the past?
All that will happen is if this is a limited time thing then Google will stop it early.
If it wasn't going to be - then they will stop the deal anyway.
What happens when somebody posts a voucher code for Tesco etc on these and other forums?
Well if everyone just used it then I expect it would stay valid and everyone would get the chance to use it.
However a selfish few will overuse it and everyone then loses out when the vouchers are cancelled and in some cases not honoured.
Hopefully that won't happen here.
So sure, use those £10 off orders but please don't be silly - because we'll all end up losing out in the end.

Debit cards are supposed to work aren't they? It doesn't accept my visa debit card and says it's unrecognized :( . Any ideas why? It says on the FAQ it should be accepted.

It doesn't take my Visa Electron either.

I have noticed one thing, with Paypal, you can pay without having to create an account, which you can't do with Google Checkout so it seems.

Indeed...you need a Google Account.

Not just a Checkout account...a *Google* Account....

Google knows all ;)
