Google Earth?

Wait a couple of years until they become available I think. It does depend on where you're looking at though.

I cant wait until they get Super high resolution maps.

Nudist beach searches will be through the roof :p

Now that site kicks arse!

I cannot see anything where I live with Google but this is amazing!

The only problem is that some of the maps on local.live.com are 10 years old :D

A little story -
A few months ago I went to a farm where I was gigging and I wasn't quite sure which path it was up. I went on local.live.com and looked from above and was amazed to see a race track on his land. When I got there I produced a picture from above and asked what it was. he took me over to a barn, opened up the doors and inside were two tanks complete with turrets that he races around the track

Resurrecting the thread - just to ask if anyone else has noticed that London has become a lot more hi-res at some point over the last week. Looking at the buildings near me and the greenery, I'd say the images were taken during the early months of this year.

However, the imagery looks to be taken pretty early in the morning as there are long shadows, which hides some detail

Ouch, those shadows really are a pain. :(

The images don't appear to be vastly superior in quality either. Zoomed out the whole of Central London looks a rather sickly shade of yellowy-brown!

Most aerial photography companies will be taking 5cm resolution at some point this year.

For reference the standard stuff is 25cm, the better resolution photography is 12cm, so its going to be good, i've got some trial images and you can easily make out the model of individual cars.

Yeah there's a huge difference in quality. There's what looks like a stage and a big crowd in Leicester Square, could that help date the shots?

The pictures of my house used to be great a few months back, you could see the details of the cair in the driveway (albeit the old one)

Now, they've been 'updated' to the point i can barely discern the car from the driveway itself. (although, it IS the new car.)
The new shots looks like they were taken in bright sunshine (on one of the few days a year we get sunshine), so the glare is awful.
