According to Bloomberg today, a group of Google engineers have been tasked to replace Android with Fuchsia. Fuchsia is being designed to better handle voice inputs and security updates and Google wants it to have a uniform look across all devices. Perhaps Google sees this in part as a response to the EU fine on Android?

Thanks, Google bot.

Years away anyway from a quick search, hardly worth speculating at this point.

Timeline:

"According to one of the people, engineers have said they want to embed Fuchsia on connected home devices, such as voice-controlled speakers, within three years, then move on to larger machines such as laptops. Ultimately the team aspires to swap in their system for Android […] The aim is for this to happen in the next half decade, one person said."

Google can't even get a uniform look on its bloomin apps, let alone it's OS or devices. Good luck with that one.
