Uhm maybe I'm being a total freaking thicko here, but how on earth do I reply to the GROUP using google groups, rather than the author....

There seems to be no option for this??????

Frankly I can't be bothered installing a news client just to post a message just now.

Yes I have a gmail account and am signed in....

doesn't "reply to author" just reply to the post you click on?

No it sends a message to the author via email. I want to post a reply to the group.

hmmm looking at recent posts It appears the 'reply' link is there. but it's not there on the (admittedly a few years old) thread I posted above. the suXor.
