Wanted to say thank you for telling me this. Never knew about IMAP, now I do, now I am using it. Now email life is perfect. Thank you :D
 
I'm sorry for bumping this up but I didn't see the need to create a new thread on such a basic question. Anyway to speed access up from Thunderbird? Just when I delete a message it takes a few seconds before I can do anything... like delete another message.
 
Yep, just checked and I'm still registered to my broadband address from when I was at school!!!!

Anyway, I've been a member since 2000, and spend like £5k in the shop. Can I change to gmail too as its the only one I check.
 
Only slightly off topic, all I had to do to get IMAP access was to change the language from UK English to US English in the settings. That said, both my Gmail accounts are early ones - so not @googlemail.com, I'm not sure if the above trick works with those accounts.
 
Wouldn't be the first time they release stuff to US users but not UK users, I swapped my homepage to the US site rather than the UK to get themes. :o

Oh, would you look at that, 'Older version' pops up when I change the language. :mad:
