Google maps app?

Am I right in thinking even if there was a Google Maps app it still wouldn't integrate with the built in apps that use maps?

I use a handy app produced by my local council for reporting issues, Quidco, and Flight Radar, all these now use the totally useless Apple Maps, this means I now can't report issues to the council as the satellite image around me (for miles and miles) is badly pixelated, and I can't check in for my ***** 10p here and there on Quidco!
 
Just been on the phone to Apple support, the suggestion was to add the "Google Maps App" or, as the rest of us know it... a link on the homescreen to Google Maps on the web!

It seems to be totally lost on them that that's not going to help me with maps integration!
 
I went the SG3 route (mine is about a week old) because of g.maps, which I rely on a lot. I decided not to opt for the iP5. Sounds like you're in the same boat. The maps integration into the OS is extremely good as I discovered this weekend when it took me to earls court eurogamer expo without an issue.

Just like Maccy D's Loving it :D Infact when I went back to the IP4/5 after playing with they S3 the looked poo in comparison! thats coming from someone thats been using iPhones since the very 1st one. Iphone seems built better, at least 4s although my 5 is scuffgate free but i shall be selling both.

Thinking about doing this myself as well. I use the google maps app quite a bit with work and on holiday in Rome it was a god send at times. I've not updated my IP4 because I know I will lose it, Having used the Apple maps app I'm not impressed at all. I'm due a upgrade and it really puts me off the IP5.
 
Gradually getting used to the GS3. The first thing that hits you is the plastic. If you're used to solid iPhones then it'll surprise you. I keep mistakenly pressing the volume button on the side because imo it should be higher up. Other then that it is sound hardware wise.
