Google Maps - terrain view

Very cool. I read something about it a while ago, but presumed it was just America that would be done first, it seems not :)

I tend to use the MS version which has had the terrain view for a while now (maps.live.com). Take a look at the normal terrain map at the lake district or the birds eye view / 3d stuff for London and cities, some of the stuff is very cool...

Makes a change to see Google playing catch up to someone else, although I think the Google maps directions and trip planning is a little better.

Still can't beat the AA or RAC sites for directions though, I tried a route on Google Maps and when I followed the route using the satellite images it was taking me the wrong way down a one way street lol.

Get out of this thread Bill Gates lover.

Google is God.

:p :D

Google is awesome, its getting packed with ads these days, but even then it still manages to try (most of the time succeed) and provide the user what they need.

Nice update to the map feature :D

Yeh google is great, they just keep expanding. Like first it was a search engine only, and now look where it's at.

Did you know you can now lock on your position (close enough) using your mobile? just browse to www.google.com/gmm on your phone browser and install the app. It was accurate for me to within 2 roads on my K800i.

Has both plain and hybrid view.
