Is there a way to force google maps to only show labels in English? I tried googling for an answer but couldn't find anything useful. It's really annoying.

The place names. When I look at foreign countries the names are in arabic and chinese and stuff. I don't want the screen filled up with alphabets I can't even read.

And the English alphabet labels aren't even in English. It says Moskva instead of Moscow. Then it says the same thing in Cryllic underneath. I just want "Moscow".

You can't change as it's part of the map data.

Use Microsoft Globe or bing maps instead.

I agree, I find Bing maps generally gives me better imagary in particular the birds eye view from a plane (from 4 directions I recently found so you can see something from N/S/E &West) and proper A-Z map of London.

Although Bing has a street view as well, so far Google seems to have covered more ground.

Bing reminds me of Bing Crosby singing 'little drummer boy' with David Bowie...thus I associate bing with Bowie.

I know it's a strange association, but that's what I think of when I hear 'Bing' mentioned.
