Hi,

not sure if this is the correct place for this, feel free to move if it’s not!

I’ve got an outdoor google nest camera, power though the wall to an inside socket. After about 4 months the camera just died, could hard reset it, no LED lights nothing. Totally dead.

google agreed to replace it, now 3 months later exactly the same problem. Dead! I’m starting to think it’s not so much the camera! I’ve added a surge protector which hasn’t even twitched, so I think the power is fine.

are these products just useless or am I working my way through a bad batch?

anyone else had issues?

I've just setup a pair of these at ours, just for some simple cctv thats attached to my Nest heating account.
One is using the provided usb to 240vac adapter, and the other usb is fed through the wall and plugged straight into a usb/double socket.

Nothing fancy, and really user friendly to add family members to the account too.
 
Mines been going 2 years so far and no issues, my sisters got 3 and my colleague has 1 and they've all been problem free. Biggest issue is nest going down I find.
