Google Pixel and Pixel XL

We may complain and be up in arms, but by targeting the average Joe and Apples market rather than the cheap/enthusiast market, Google is aiming to make the most amount of money from their device. Just like Apple.

It just doesn't suit us because we Nexus owners are priced out of the market.

Personally I think it's a very bad move. But then google have a problem they cant get rid off. That is one apple doesn't have.

This 'problem' is that there are other manufactures that use their O.S to make their own handsets.

Not sure what I'm gonna do. Thinking of just grabbing a 5x s an upgrade to me 5.

This is just the beginning. At the moment it is still possible to get hold of 5x and 6p devices. Give it a year or two for supply to dry up and then if you want a Google device with timely updates your be paying top £££. :(

I'm seriously thinking of just grabbing a 5x as an upgrade to my 5. Credit card is already out and waiting. Just don't know if it's the wise move.

I don't see anything else out in the market that really grabs me.

The main feature I want is uptodate software and timely updates. The 5x seems to be the only device to fulfil this criteria. (At a price I am willing to pay)

Considered the S7. It's a nice device, but it's still expensive and the whole OS not being uptodate thing would bug me.

Ouch, I was going to buy from Argos but they are out of stock.

I'll know if the marketing has worked, if my mum & dad start talking about the 'Pixel' phone.

That's what marketing is for. It's to penetrate the mind of the every day person to make them think that it is an every day kind of tool they need in their lives.

They don't have a scooby doo about features etc. They wouldn't understand it even if you told em. It's more brand name that makes the difference.

My parents recognise only two. Samsung and Apple in the phone world.

I'm sure this is the case for the vast majority. And Google are trying to target this vast majority using Apples strategy. Expensive 'must haves'.

I personally feel like this Pixel launch has been and will be a disaster. Something Google will fix next year. Either by bringing back a two tiered lineup like they did with the Nexus or something else, but something thing about this launch stinks.
