googlemail.com / gmail.com

I have a gmail account, got it about a couple of months ago, just say you are in the US when you register and stick 94043 as your zip code.

Anyone wanna guess where that is? ;)

Those kind of emails will attract a heck of spam. I had one of those "nice" short hotmail email addy, since i signed up way back in 1994. The account is all but unusable. I get close to 300 emails in my inbox daily, mostly from pple typing in wrong addresses, but also spam. Heck, if i dont check it for afew days, there are pages and pages of spam sitting in my inbox.

I've long since given up trying to use the account since you end up sifting through all those junk for the few relevant ones.

yeah but common [email protected] (H) that would just pwn.

i dont get 300 mails a day on my current account but around 50-100 a day.my spam box is always floating around 2000-3000 messages (its auto deleted after 30 days. hence i got the figures)

talking of spam.. i tell you what the google mail spam filter is one of the best ive ever seen. i hand on heart have had ( in my memory ) no more than maybe 5 messages slip thru into my inbox pretty neat (H)

i prefer my @live.com address :) had it since around october..

.. feels cool knowing its not public yet :D

btw, got it whilst there were backdoors on hotmail signup to allow @live.com signups..

People actually paid for a @gmail.com address?

I got mine not longer after it was launched and got squillions of invites to send to people.

Besides, if you really want an @gmail.com addy just use a non-UK/Germany/Austria proxy.

I managed to get an invite when they were first released, so I have a gmail.com account, but I wanted to make a new one so sent myself an invite and I could only register @googlemail.com
