google's new black toolbar ... anyone found a fix?

Just wondering if anyone has been able to fix the horrid Black toolbar that has recently appeared in Google?

Had a quick look at their site and there's lots of discussion (mainly hate for it) but no one seems to have found a way to get back to the original colour.

Any ideas guys?


NO, I don't want to use a different browser or search engine.


Searched these forums too but found nothing.
 
Thanks. I hate it too - it clashes so badly with the rest of their colour scheme.

Typical Google - brilliant technically but not a clue about UI design.
 
Google has a history of making changes, getting people's reactions, then undoing the changes if the masses call for it. If a majority don't like it then they will put it back soon I'm sure.

The problem is, people who do like it won't say anything, so all they will hear is complaints.
 
I thought I'd changed something accidentally, but just could not find the strength to look to see if anyone else had it.

I like the new search buttons and the categories down the left hand side, but I think the black toolbar is too much.
