Gordon Brown sticks finger up to tax rebels!

But he hasn't given them the middle finger has he, along with the Chancellor he has just announced that a compensation package will be introduced to assist people who are worse off as a result of the abolition of the 10p tax band.

Which basically means he's breaking the budget. If it was geared around getting extra cash from abolishing the 10p band and spending that money on something
else, then I'm not sure where he's going to come up with the cash to make these compensation payments to people. Perhaps he'll make it so convoluted and difficult that most people won't claim, but I'm sure the government would never do something like that...

At least they've listened to the rest of the country, doesn't happen often though. Oddly if you run a business and listen to your employees you're seen as wise, but if your in government and listen to people you're seen as weak.

Good on them for changing this, even if they should have gotten it right to start with. Frankly when the tories get in, things won't get any better, they're just as much a bunch of useless planks, problem is they've no experience of being planks and most don't even realise they are planks.

Planks, bloomin everywhere!
