GordyR's Beginners Guide to Bodybuilding

Im not having a go but you led me to belive you were having trouble maintaining position through weak hams, however the truth is you can hold the weight fine but dont want to or something, i mean OF COURSE its gonna hurt your hams they are engaged continuously....

You're right - I think it may be just me being overly cautious with a new excercise and also not being fully aware of every muscle that this excercise brings into play - the caution comes from not being aware that the hams would get stressed rather than the stress itself.

Thanks for the tips CW!

Yeah, I was was wondering about that as well.

Well to reply to the other replies and basically what Gman quoted from me Arnel the guy who created the six pack abs program claims that you follow his routine it will get the results and the reason why I was thinking of following it as I want to lose the layer of fat around the stomach area. If I can lose that I can clean bulk and basically keep it quite easy for me to maintain as I can bulk for a while then cut for like 2 weeks or less since I wouldn't add much fat on at all due to not having much.

So I would rather heavy lift but he swears by this program and using these resistance bands. I mean should I do this?

Really though am I better bulking or cutting some more? (stats = 6ft 3in 190lbs and 12% bodyfat). If I bulk I would gain some fat but the extra muscle would improve fat loss anyway. If I cut I can lose the layer of fat around the abs and chest etc and at then bulk afterwards.

M8 you've been told this before, abs are about BF not any particular program, this program is just a good mild cardio program (+ diet? didn't read) thats conducive to weight loss.

Heres an idea! Pot of coffee and treadmill for 1 hour each morning before brekkie. Sorted ;)

not to say you shouldnt do it m8, just its not a magic program is all

I know that but what im trying to say is weather I should cut or bulk, yes I do want the definition but I'd rather have the definition whilst bulking rather than bulking whilst having fatty areas.

Must say I'm suprised. If you're looking for a quick fix 4 week diet that really works then the V-Diet is it. I wouldn't do it myself, it's not very healthy but the weight will absolutely drop off you.

Google it there's loads of info about it.

Hmm, weight or fat? really at 13.5 stone im pretty sure thats the right weight for 6ft 3in, so I don't want to really go below 13 stone. I'll look into it though.

Tbh I know what I want but really don't know the best way going about it. I want to gain muscle of course but at the same time be pretty lean and cut. I know I won't get it by tomorow or whatever but it's making sure im following the correct routine to gain that result, rather than 6 months down the line saying that was a waste of time.
