I do as we're only a small firm and it's his business he is pretty rooted as bosses go. Plus going in whilst ill shows I'm not lying :) I've had some jobs in the past where they'd send someone out to check on you to see if you were actually at home ill or fobbing it off.

You have no idea what flu is.

The disease with the largest death toll for a single plague is flu. So many people died that nobody could keep an accurate count, but the lower estimate is around 50 million dead and the higher estimate is 100 million dead. In one pandemic. The Great Death of the late 1340s was worse in terms of %age of population killed, but that's the only worse plague.

I've had flu once. For days, I had to crawl to the toilet because I couldn't stand up and that crawling took a long time. I had no idea it was possible to feel that ill. It's the only time in my life so far in which I was seriously concerned that I might die.

Even the healthiest people get sick/ill - the health part comes into play when you take into account the recovery time, and in some cases, the severity of the ailments.
