Hi there,

I have a Uni placement interview tommorow at a estate agents. My suit dont fit me no more but I was planning to wear some trousers shirt and skinny tie. It looks relativly smart but should I try and get a suit?

If it was me, definately. Can't you just borrow a matching jacket off of someone with the same size?

Every estate agent i know wears a full suit to do business. If you turn up with the same then it will look good at least.. Skinny tie is too casual

You would be ok without the Jacket in all honesty but I would lose the skinny tie for sure, something a wee bit more professional would be better in my eyes :)

I mean if you feel like you dont look smart enough then the new suit may be the best idea but you really just have to look well presented.

Unless explicitly told otherwise, I always go with a full suit and tie to an interview. I would deffo NOT wear a skinny tie, I'm sure you have a 24hr supermarket nearby you can pick up a tie from.

Hi

As long as you are smart (no jeans) then a suit is probably not necessary.

Oh and it's ....an estate agents.... ('an' is used because the following work starts with a vowel)

I'd have to agree with the advice to not go with the skinny tie, if you've got nothing other than that I suspect you'd be better to go bare collared. Ideally pick up another tie as suggested to go with the trousers, shirt and shoes but I don't know if that is an option for you here.

Says the guy with terrible grammer!

Ironing.

I wear a suit to all interviews. On the skinny tie front I think it depends on how broad-set you are, I am a very skinny guy so normal sized ties tend to look a bit silly on me, but a skinny tie looks a lot better and not so overpowering.
