GOT A JOB INTERVIEW AT TESCO NEED help FORUM!

133 posts and the OP has long given up on any answers to the several questions he asked.

OP : So guys, what should I say when the interviewer asks me abo -

GD1 : Shut up, we're talking about why you should wear a suit!

GD2 : No, I got a job without a suit so you're wrong!

GD1 : But but but, no, you. YOU!

GD2 : I wore ... trainers!

GD EN MASSE : Rabble rabble rabble

OP : Guys. Guys? I got the job! Great eh?

GD EN MASSE : What did you wear in the end?

OP : I wore jeans and a suit jacket.

GE EN MASSE <explodes>

Reason: I'm interested in the retail industry. I enjoy a customer facing role and having the opportunity to provide excellent customer service with my outgoing and friendly personality. I enjoy working as part of a team to achieve targets and motivated in exceeding expectations.

That is such a non-answer you may as well just look at them and go "herp derp.. derp derp herp"

Oh and wear a suit without the jacket.

It's not a great answer but it's certainly not a non-answer. The OP sounded nervous and only wants the job to buy PC parts so it's probably best if he goes with something that doesn't make him sound utterly unemployable.

True ok non-answer probably a little strong. I am not suggesting something radical either. I do wonder if someone hiring for Tesco shelf stacking would ask that question though, more likely to ask other classics like "where do you see yourself in 2 years time?" as it is more relevant.

LOL!

I'm not going to bother. It really is tragic.

Unless of course you have got educational "issues" in which case I apologise for being so harsh.

Most people under 22 appear to have "dyslexia" these days  (I am using the quotations in a sarcastic tone for those that missed it :p)

If it was anything like the interview I had a few years ago at Tesco, they sit you in an empty room, get you to fill in some kind of personality test and then tell you they'll be in touch.

Oh and I got that job lol

I don't understand what the big deal is about wearing a suit. Maybe it's different for women, but I've never worn or even own a suit (yes, female suits do exist) and I've never really had a problem in finding a job. As long as you look smart and presentable then who cares if it's a suit or not.

Easier for a woman to look smarter I recon, there's a greater choice!

In general, women can wear an extensive range of clothes for work/interviews which are acceptable. For men, suits or shirts and ties are considered as the requisite "business attire"
