if you're not teaching staff then the salary is pro rata mate. Only teachers get the full salary.

To be honest though it could be a very good stepping stone to something more lucrative..if he plays his cards right

And it's blooming awesome working in education. LOTS of variety, working with kids..and my 6 weeks summer holidays are coming very soon.

Hi Tried&Tested, you may recognise me from that discussion board, I posted a thread about my new job as an ICT technician recently, and also was asking for help in research towards my final year project.

PhantomKarl, congratulation on your new job. I'm just out of university, and applied for a few ICT technician jobs which happened to come available at the time - got an interview from my first application, and the job offer 2hrs later

Couldn't believe my luck

When do you start? I'm not starting until September, but already been in for my induction.

Computer Science. The programming in the end did not interest me at all - I spent my placement working in a school as an ICT technician and really liked it, so I decided to go into that type of job.

And did you look in to the pro rata bits i mentioned? I'm not going on about it..i just want you to make sure you'll be taking home what you're expecting at the end of the month.
